Craig MacDonald

Craig MacDonald has worked on staff for the top newspapers and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. He also has been a nationally-syndicated columnist and award-winning television producer. A regular contributor to Sierra Heritage magazine, this author has written nearly a dozen books on the Old West and will soon publish yet another book featuring true tales of the the California Gold Rush 49′ers.MacDonald has been a media relations, marketing communications & promotions director for Olympics Games, Super Bowl Football, All Star Baseball, America’s Cup, World Cup Soccer as well as the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.His innovative work has been used by several of the nation’s top corporations, including AT&T and Disney.Recently releasing his latest book, “California Gold Rush Glimpses II, Amazing Tales Of People, Life And Times,” his historic tales of the Old West are available in this compilation sold through Sierra Heritage magazine publications.

The San Jose State University (SJSU) alumnus has co-authored many stories and several books with his father, Franklin MacDonald, a former English professor at the university. The retired professor passed away in 2004, and his son now continues his father’s legacy, working in his late father’s library, combing through notes and often attributing stories and books to his dad.

Craig MacDonald also teamed up with Debbie Stock for nearly 30 years. The two traveled and wrote stories about a variety of topics ranging from the Olympic Games to destination pieces about California points of interest.

Among MacDonald’s contributions to Vacation Travel Channel is a story about Reno, Nevada.
